Data Scientist - Trainee
One out of every four(!) trucks on the European highways are completely empty; locally this is even more. The solution is Synple: realtime cross chain collaboration, to increase synergy between transport companies. Less kilometers, lower cost, less carbon emissions, and eventually a more sustainable business model for the transport sector.
Synple is a high-tech company based in Breda, The Netherlands. Synple specializes in creating user-friendly and intuitive software. Our software seamlessly integrates into the daily operations of transport companies. With the Synple platform our customers can easily find capacity and exchange freight in order to increase efficiencies.
Synple already has a strong presence and traction in the Dutch road transport market, supporting a broad customer base in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Heavy Road Cargo (HRC) industries.
Synple develops a platform with a UI for transport managers and planners. The platform is realtime integrated with the existing ERP environments of the users. In this technology diverse set up and operationally challenging business, we are developing value adding functionalities for the users. This is a creative, solution focused, user oriented continuous improvement process. Today we are working with some 20 renowned Dutch transport companies to pilot and develop. We are following the users (both in the system and on the shop floor) to understand their needs and further improve.
The team exists of people with broad experience in the industry. Synple was founded recently and is building its own Tech Team since beginning of 2017. The team is growing and has developers, analysts and logistic domain experts. The team is international and passionate to grow and expand from Benelux to Europe in the coming years.
We are hiring a data scientist - trainee.
The data scientist is has an internal consulting role. You perform analytics and research, on your own proactive mindset, or on request. You initiate in depth analyses and research. You are IT savvy, and have the ability to read code and create (pseudo) code. You are able to crunch data, set up research tactics and understand the difference between once-off analytics, standardized requests and machine learning. You will be part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, and we offer an environment for a high potential.
As data scientist you have:
- Bachelor/Master Degree (WO), econometrics/technology/business management or equivalent
- Experience in managing data and information projects
- Experience with Improvement projects, project management
- Not afraid of start-ups/scale-ups (ambitious, international, strange, focused, spirited people;))
As an operations and improvement manager you might already have:
- Experience with multiple (BI) systems
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Experience with Scrum, Agile
